Campaign Roundup - Day 8:
- The Saskatchewan Party suggested that a Saskatchewan NDP government would crash the economy. They posted a video with quotes from NDP candidates regarding tax increases.
- In policy announcement news, the Saskatchewan Party promised a 25% increase to the Disability Tax Credit for adults, the Disability Tax Credit Supplement for persons under 18, and the Caregiver Tax Credit.
- The Saskatchewan NDP accused the Saskatchewan Party of having raised taxes, and doubled down on their promise to not raise taxes, as well as to cut the gas tax and eliminate the PST on groceries and kids’ clothing.
- Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck suggested that cancer patients are dying before starting treatment. She reiterated her plan for an improved healthcare system.
- The Saskatchewan United Party is continuing to name candidates. Nominations close on October 12th, but an interim list of candidates for all parties is available online. The final list will be posted on October 13th.
- While the Saskatchewan Leaders' Debate has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th, only Scott Moe, Leader of the Saskatchewan Party, and Carla Beck, Leader of the Saskatchewan NDP, will be debating. The Saskatchewan Green Party are also running a full slate, and Leader Naomi Hunter said her party should be on the debate stage too. What do you think?
