Campaign Roundup - Day 6:
- The first week of campaigning wrapped up. Saskatchewan NDP Leader Carla Beck took a little time to attend the Roughriders game. (After a 28-24 win over the Edmonton Elks, the Riders are headed to the playoffs!).
- The Saskatchewan NDP and the Saskatchewan Party made campaign stops in Moose Jaw, each promising local investments if elected. Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe emphasized continued investments in healthcare and education, while NDP Leader Carla Beck pledged to build a new elementary school and invest in the city's economy.
- Carla Beck, Saskatchewan NDP Leader, reiterated her party’s promise to drop the gas tax and eliminate the PST on kids’ clothes and groceries.
- Scott Moe, Leader of the Saskatchewan Party, criticized the NDP’s record on taxation, and doubled down on his party’s promise to cut income taxes.
- Moose Jaw’s local news has identified some key areas important to voters, and have outlined what each party has promised on those issues so far. A recent scan of health care promises showed that the Saskatchewan NDP pledged a Nursing Task Force, while Saskatchewan United proposed allowing non-government clinics and increasing medical school spots.
- Elections Saskatchewan is looking for election workers. Information officers, poll clerks, ballot box offers, and Deputy Returning Officers are a few of the positions available. More information and applications are available online.
