With the 2024 SK election underway, we'll be bringing you daily updates on all the policy proclamations, platform promises, and political point-scoring from the campaign trail.

Campaign Roundup - Day 5:
- Saskatchewan Party leader Scott Moe said that his party’s affordability plan will deliver permanent tax reductions for everyone, and criticized the Saskatchewan NDP’s plan as being “a temporary tax holiday that excludes anyone who doesn’t drive.”
- Jon Hromek, Leader of the Saskatchewan United Party, said that spending is out of control in the province. He said that, if elected, his party would get the debt under control.
- The Saskatchewan Progress Party criticized both the Saskatchewan NDP and the Saskatchewan Party for their opposition to the carbon tax. The Progress Party said the carbon tax is a useful tool to fight climate change and help Canadians. They also suggested replacing the PST with a carbon tax.
- The Saskatchewan NDP said they would cut $58 million in spending during their first year in government, by axing the marshals service, slashing government advertising, and cutting administration at the Province’s Crown Investments Corporation and Executive Council.
- Politicians are facing calls to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a statutory holiday. NDP Leader Carla Beck has pledged that an NDP government would indeed make the day a holiday, while Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe said discussions are ongoing.
- Voting Week runs from October 22nd to 28th. If you haven’t registered to vote yet, you can do so online, until October 19th. You can also register by mail or over the phone. If you wish to vote by mail, rather than at a polling station, you can request to do so until October 19th. Elections Saskatchewan has published a guide for how to vote in the election. It’s available online, in multiple languages.
