Campaign Roundup - Day 4:
- The Saskatchewan Party accused the Saskatchewan NDP of releasing a “dishonest” costing plan that doesn’t account for $3 billion. The Saskatchewan Party claims that there are $2.25 billion in hidden expenses and $800 million in “phantom revenue”. The Saskatchewan NDP says that the Saskatchewan Party’s math is wrong.
- The Saskatchewan Party also accused the Saskatchewan NDP of supporting the carbon tax, despite the party’s recent claim that they oppose it. The Saskatchewan Party pointed to several candidate tweets and statements indicating that support.
- Carla Beck, Leader of the Saskatchewan NDP said they will balance the budget in the first term, without raising taxes.
- Scott Moe, Leader of the Saskatchewan Party, said his party will increase the number of police officers across the province.
- The Saskatchewan Party laid out a plan to make it more affordable to buy a first home and to renovate an existing home. They promised to make the Home Renovation Tax Credit permanent and allow homeowners to claim a tax credit of up to $4,000 in renovation expenses each year as well as increase the Saskatchewan First-Time Homebuyers Tax Credit from $10,000 to $15,000.
- Candidate nominations continue, and the Saskatchewan United Party announced several new candidates, including for Melville - Saltcoats, Warman and White City - Qu’Appelle.
- The Saskatchewan United Party held a press conference in Regina to announce the launch of their Blueprint For Change, the party’s official platform.
