Campaign Roundup - Day 24:

  • Voter turnout in Saskatchewan provincial elections has dropped nearly 30% since 1982, with only 53% of eligible voters casting ballots in 2020. This year, voter turnout in the advance polls has exceeded past years.

  • Advance voting is still underway. You can cast your ballot today until 7:00 pm, and again tomorrow and Saturday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. There is no voting on Sunday, but Election Day polls will be open on Monday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Information on where and when to vote can be found on the Elections Saskatchewan website.

  • Brad Wall, former Premier of Saskatchewan, voted in the advance polls. He said on social media that he cast his ballot for the Saskatchewan Party for a strong economy.

  • Scott Moe, Leader of the Saskatchewan Party, spoke to supporters in Moose Jaw. He accused the Saskatchewan NDP of wanting to grow the size of the government, hand out drugs, and take money out of people’s pockets. He touted his government's record of hiring doctors, and building schools and highways.

  • The Saskatchewan NDP continued to talk about their plan to address the “public safety crisis”, promising to hire 200 new police officers, invest in mental health and addiction services, and provide a rebate for security upgrades to families, small businesses, and places of worship.

  • Carla Beck, Saskatchewan NDP Leader, spoke at the Federation of Labour convention. She accused the Saskatchewan Party of leaving growth opportunities untapped and neglecting workers' concerns. She said an NDP government would support local jobs.
